No. Customers scan the QR code you display at your venue and the YouOwnMusic player opens in their phone's browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create — they verify their mobile number once with an OTP and can start requesting songs.
Every request passes through five safety layers: the music provider's explicit-content flag, title and metadata rules, a platform-wide blocked-song list, your venue's own blocked list, and customer reports. New venues start in Strict Safe mode. We do not claim to detect 100% of adult content — anything the system cannot confidently classify is held for your approval instead of being played.
Yes. You can require approval for every request, or let safe songs through automatically and only review the ones the safety system flags. Approve, reject, skip, reorder or clear the queue at any time from your dashboard.
No. YouOwnMusic is a request and queue platform, not a music host. We never download, convert, store or redistribute copyrighted audio. Song discovery uses permitted music-provider APIs for metadata, and playback runs through the provider's own official player.
Never publicly. The venue queue shows a first name only. Phone numbers are reduced to a secure identifier plus the last four digits for moderation purposes, so you can recognise a repeat requester without the full number being stored or shown.
Your dashboard stays accessible so you can renew at any time, but the player stops accepting new song requests and shows a subscription-expired message to customers. Renewing reactivates requests immediately.
